We seek applications from aspiring entrepreneurs seeking to develop a business idea with Blenheim Chalcot who will provide access to initial capital from our network and venture building support services across all stages of growth.
Accelerator
Blenheim Chalcot is the UK’s leading venture builder providing an accelerator programme for new, entrepreneurial digital ventures in our core sectors of Fintech, Media, EdTech and IT Services.
Our Venture Builder Model
Our model has 5 key stages from initial incubation, where we assess and test the model for 3-6 months, followed by 4 further stages as the business gains traction and scales.
Within the Incubation period, we work with the entrepreneur and our finance team to incorporate and structure the new venture to be able to access the most appropriate funding partners alongside Blenheim Chalcot, including potentially High Net Worth individuals, institutional Venture Capital or Private Equity and Strategic Investors.
Our accelerator programme is typically over 2-3 years as the business goes from Incubation through Seed and Venture stages, at which point Blenheim Chalcot assists in raising external institutional funding via our network to scale up.
Venture Builder Services Support
As the business develops we provide formal support from our BC Venture Builder Services and BC Investment teams to help the company with core functions, strategic advice and funding support, including access to our base of international investors.
Our Venture Builder Services and Investment support include:
- Marketing
- Accounting
- Legal
- Tax
- Fund raising
- Sales & leadership training
- Network access for potential partnership, sales leads, investors
- Community events
These support services are typically charged with bundled fees under a formal agreement between ventures and Blenheim Chalcot.
In addition, the new ventures can access the services of BC Venture Builder Services in India covering:
- Technology development
- Customer experience management
- Financial support
- Market research
Furthermore, a new venture proposition will be located alongside our core portfolio in Scale Space, our 200,000sqft innovation campus, which is a joint venture between Imperial College and Blenheim Chalcot in West London.
Applications
We review all applications against our Blenheim Chalcot Investment Criteria and are seeking to incubate 2-3 ideas per year under our accelerator programme. Typically our new ventures are sourced from:
- External entrepreneurs submitting new digital business plan ideas
- Individuals within our portfolio proposing new ideas (including spin-outs from current businesses)
- Existing ventures with initial traction seeking a growth investor and support partner
