Oakbrook is recognised as one of the 2021 UK’s Best Workplaces
April 2021

For the second year running Oakbrook has ranked as one of the UK’s Best Workplace for medium sized companies. Culture, collaborative working, and trust are just some of the reasons why employees said they love working for Oakbrook – even during a crisis.

Despite an incredibly challenging year for businesses the world over, Oakbrook has been able to not only sustain but also further embed their award-winning culture, ultimately achieving a ranking on the 2021 UK’s Best Workplace list in the medium company category published by Great Place to Work UK today.

Oakbrook is among 183 UK based organisations recognised by its colleagues as an organisation that promotes a healthy workplace culture.

Sarah Marriot, Chief People Officer at Oakbrook commented; “We’re delighted to have received this fantastic endorsement of our culture for the 2nd consecutive year. We’re extremely proud of the culture we have at Oakbrook today, but even more proud and thankful for our colleagues that make that culture a reality, without their continuous and open feedback we would never have been able to achieve this great accolade.”

She goes on to say; “Undoubtedly, COVID has impacted everybody, and in very different ways, but by prioritising trust and respect through transparent and frequent communication, and by providing the support, tools and environment our colleagues needed to feel safe and secure, we’ve empowered our team to rise to the challenge at every hurdle and that’s exactly what they’ve done.”

Oakbrook’s ranking means it is one of the best medium-sized businesses to work for in the UK. To secure the award, it had to demonstrate an intimate understanding of the importance of trust, collaboration, and innovation in achieving organisational goals.

Understanding the perspective of employees is key to building a successful workplace environment. To determine an organisation’s ranking, Great Place to Work administers their comprehensive employee survey which represents ¾ of the organisations final score. The remaining quarter of the score comes from the Culture Audit – a business driven questionnaire that uncovers and evaluates the organisations HR and leadership practices, policies, and culture.
