Stream to Acquire Salary Finance, Creating a Leading Workplace Finance Platform
September 2026

Blenheim Chalcot portfolio company, Salary Finance, today announced that it has reached an agreement for Stream, a leading global workplace finance platform, to acquire the company. The combination will bring together two complementary businesses with a shared mission to improve the financial wellbeing of working people.

Founded in 2015, Salary Finance has been backed by Blenheim Chalcot since inception and L&G since 2017. Over the past 11 years, the business has grown into one of the UK’s best-known workplace financial wellbeing providers.

Today, Salary Finance works with around 500 employers, including approximately a fifth of the FTSE 100, reaching more than 3.5 million employees and funding around £350 million of responsible workplace finance each year. Its offering spans workplace loans, payroll savings, earned wage access and financial education.

The transaction marks the next stage of Salary Finance’s growth journey. Together, Salary Finance and Stream will reach 5.5 million British workers, as well as millions more across the US and Europe. The combination will bring together Salary Finance’s expertise in responsible workplace finance with Stream’s technology and broader suite of financial products, while creating greater scope for investment in new workplace finance services.

As part of the transaction, Salary Finance Co-Founder and CEO Asesh Sarkar will join Stream as UK President and will remain a shareholder in the enlarged business.

Salary Finance has been part of the Blenheim Chalcot portfolio since its creation and is an example of the venture builder model in practice: identifying an important market opportunity, building a business around a clear mission and supporting it as it grows to significant scale.

Blenheim Chalcot would like to thank the entire Salary Finance team, as well as its other shareholders, employer partners and customers, for their contributions to the business over the past 11 years.

The transaction is expected to complete in early 2027, subject to customary and regulatory closing conditions.
