Aryia Patel, Graduate
Introduction
Hello, I'm Aryia Patel, a Product Manager at Call AI, one of Blenheim Chalcot's (BC) exciting Early Venture Opportunities (EVOs). Based at Scale Space in London, I joined the team in February 2024. My journey to BC began after graduating from the University of Manchester in the summer of 2022. I spent a year on a graduate scheme at a FTSE 250 trading firm, before embracing the opportunity to contribute to BC's innovative ventures.
Working at BC
What drew me to BC was the dynamic nature of the industry and the prospect of helping build a business from the ground up. The exposure I get in the business I'm building, coupled with the level of responsibility and the fast-paced environment, are undoubtedly my favourite aspects of working here.
While I'm passionate about Call AI, I'm also impressed by other portfolio companies. Liberis, in particular, stands out to me. Their business model is what I find so innovative, the platform agnostic approach coupled with their inherently low customer acquisition cost. Makes me believe they have a genuine case for producing durable returns.
One of the most insightful experiences I've had at BC was participating in a Red Team session on B2B SaaS Pricing. It was eye opening for me to get to understand how different B2B SaaS firms can offer value to multiple businesses with varying requirements and budgets, from a single product.
Although I haven't had the opportunity to travel for work yet, I've been given significant responsibilities. For instance, I work alongside Sam, Call AI's CEO, to produce our comprehensive six-page narrative detailing our performance against quarterly objectives. This document is then scrutinised in our quarterly EVO review meeting, where I have the opportunity to share my detailed thoughts with our founder Charles and the EVO team, explaining the rationale behind our decisions.
My Role at Call AI
As a Product Manager at Call AI, my role is incredibly diverse. My responsibilities range from building decks for investment pitches and approving production deployments to developing our pricing strategy and pitching to customers. This variety keeps me on my toes and allows me to contribute to multiple aspects of the business.
To excel in this role, I'd recommend having a dynamic mindset and being prepared for rapid changes in focus from day to day. Hard work is paramount, as everyone here is incredibly dedicated. The BC career development framework serves as an excellent guide for measuring performance and setting goals for improvement.
Compared to my previous role at a trading firm, my current position at Call AI offers a significantly broader remit and greater responsibility. I believe that graduates at BC are entrusted with more responsibility than in many other graduate schemes.
Looking Ahead
My goal at BC is to help transform Call AI into a robust business that has real impact on customers and produces significant, durable returns. I'm particularly excited about the prospect of visiting our team in India, which will provide valuable insights into our global operations.
Working at BC and Call AI has been a great journey so far, and I'm eager to see what the future holds as we continue to innovate in the meeting intelligence space.
